Fall Prevention Awareness Day 2017
This year, Fall Prevention Awareness Day is September 22. It’s coming up quickly! Here’s a look at what’s happening around the state this year.
The Center for Population Health and Aging is hosting a Fall Prevention Awareness event on September 14 from 9am-12pm at the Brazos Center in Bryan, Texas. The event will feature free health screenings, a fall risk escape room, information booths, and giveaways. Bring a pair of “fall-ty” shoes like flip flops or slippers to exchange for door prizes and more! For more information, contact Meredith Martin at 979.436.0606.
Is your agency or organization hosting a Fall Prevention event this September? What sort of Fall Prevention Awareness Day activities are planned for your community? Submit your ideas to Suzanne Swierc at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Not sure what to do?
The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is also a valuable resource and provides a wealth of ideas for Fall Prevention Awareness Day activities and events. The TFPC also gathered a list of fall prevention resources that could be valuable for you and your organization!
